The history of U.S.W.A. Local 1010, AFL-CIO-CLC can be traced to the early 1900’s with Lodge 56 of the A.F.L. Amalgamated Association of Iron, Steel and Tin Workers. The association never had more than a minority of Inland employees, mostly skilled, native white workers. It became all but defunct after the Great Steel Strike of 1919…..
